Position Summary
The Assistant Warehouse Manager plays a critical support role in day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring alignment with production needs and overall plant workflow. This position is responsible for assisting in inventory management, shipping and receiving activities, safety enforcement, and maintaining a well-organized warehouse environment. The Assistant Warehouse Manager reports directly to the Plant Manager and works in close collaboration with production, logistics, and facilities teams.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Coordination
Assist with monitoring the flow of materials in and out of the warehouse.
Support the implementation of inventory control systems and cycle counting processes.
Perform physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies with documentation.
Help maintain accurate, real-time inventory records to support production scheduling.
Support layout adjustments to improve inventory accessibility and efficiency.
Shipping and Receiving Oversight
Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments in accordance with delivery schedules.
Inspect incoming materials for damage or discrepancies and document appropriately.
Assist with loading/unloading trucks, verifying shipping documents, and updating records.
Ensure labeling, staging, and packaging meet quality and compliance standards.
Safety and Compliance
Promote a culture of safety by modeling best practices and enforcing PPE usage.
Conduct daily walkthroughs to identify and report potential safety hazards.
Support compliance with OSHA and internal safety procedures.
Participate in safety meetings, audits, and trainings.
Operational Support & Workflow Efficiency
Open the warehouse daily and ensure readiness for operations by 7:00 a.m.
Support space planning to optimize workflow and reduce bottlenecks.
Monitor equipment usage and report maintenance needs to the Plant Manager.
Provide hands-on support to warehouse team members during peak workload periods.
Identify opportunities to improve processes and escalate issues proactively.
Team Collaboration & Communication
Serve as a point of contact between warehouse staff and the Plant Manager.
Help onboard and train new warehouse personnel on standard procedures.
Communicate daily task priorities and support shift transitions.
Foster a cooperative work environment that aligns with company values.
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in warehouse or logistics operations, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Working knowledge of inventory systems and warehouse best practices.
Forklift certification or willingness to obtain.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to lead by example and take direction from senior leadership.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on role with physical labor involved.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
Standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
Exposure to variable warehouse temperatures and noise levels.

Compensation: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
